To all the DJs/vinyl collectors/new music mavens/cool kids out there, allow me to introduce you to eLan, a versatile and progressive producer out of southern California.  eLan’s sound has evolved extensively since we met about five years ago at UCSD, as he has ventured from a classic vinyl-sampling MPC mashing maestro to an innovative future hip hop beatsmith pioneer. Check out his SoundCloud for a proper introduction.

eLan’s unique vibe has caught the ears of the Berlin musical outfit Modeselektor, prompting the label to release his first EP, entitled “Bleep Bloop Brrrrmmp,” on vinyl last month.

A brief background on Modeselektor, from the label’s website: “Wildly diverse, infused with exuberance and inspired by a slap of the absurd, Modeselektor’s inarguable grooves seem to emanate from every conceivable musical genre, creating a controlled chaos whose sonic expression elevates the eyebrows and heartbeats of critics and dance floors around the world.”  CHEUCH!

Keep crushin’ it, e!
