I don’t like to participate in the mass market hype machine because frankly, mass market is usually pretty beat, but seeing as Drake has become a collaboration platform onto himself I felt compelled to weigh in on the debate.

Long story short, I disagree that this is a “start-to-finish” album.  Granted, this album is meant to make the cash registers ring, and therefore has targeted the most fertile and possibly the most fervent consumer – the hip hop heads – but I felt like Bun should have gotten a feature, and I would have liked to have seen some mash up with dance/electronic or even some indi-rock cats.  Maybe a Killers feature, JunkieXL, Yeah Yeah Yeah’s – I know what you’re saying, and yeah, I get the economics, and I also see the argument that we don’t need another 808’s or another wave of Daft Punk rehashes, but I just wanted a little nod to the oldschool (BunB) and a sprinkling of some new ideas (the aforementioned).

That’s all I’m sayin’.

The cliff notes on the album are as follows:

Til’ next time,
